The Irish Cultural Society is a group of your friends and neighbors who want to know more about their Irish heritage. The group, non-political by its charter, endeavors to bring together people with the common goal of learning about our roots and supporting Irish culture and study.

The Jews of Ireland
Please join us in welcoming Stanley Weinstein to our October meeting as he presents 'The Jews of Ireland.'
Mr. Weinstein was in the advertising industry for almost forty years, working in well-known agencies like Grey Advertising, Marschalk Company, McCann-Erickson and large, multi-national marketers such as Unilever. In 2011, Stan utilized his knowledge by teaching Marketing and Advertising on the graduate level at the Business School at Hofstra University as an adjunct professor.
Stan has always been interested in American history and is a member of two Civil War discussion groups on Long Island. He has made presentations to a number of groups in the tri-state area. One thing Mr. Weinstein noticed in his reading of history is the similarities of the Irish and Jewish experience. Most of us remember when Benjamin Briscoe became Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1988. Indeed, his father Robert Briscoe was Mayor in 1956. Mr. Weinstein will bring to us the rich history of Jews in Ireland. Ask him, who said "I shall be the Parnell of the Jews."
Join us on Wednesday, October 11th at the Garden City Casino. The meeting begins at 7:00pm, and is free and open to the public.

2023 Writing Contest
The Annual Writing Contest is named in honor of Martin J. Kelly, a founding member of the society and its past president for 23 years until his passing on July 2, 2015.

The members of the Irish Cultural Society and the members of the H.W. Wilson Foundation are pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Martin J. Kelly Writing Contest.

This year, our contest will challenged students to write a "Letter To Home." The writer of the letter was to be a native born Irish teenager living with relatives on Long Island for a year before enrolling in college.
