The Contributions of Northern Ireland Immigrants

At this meeting our guest speaker, Geoffrey Cobb will focus and lead a discussion about the immigrants from Ulster and their contributions to America. Those immigrants include Tommy Maken, Robert Fulton of steam boat fame, Alexander Stewart, the richest merchant in America in his time and well known founder of Garden City, and Richard Kyle Fox who created the modern American magazine and is a member of the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Mr. Cobb is native of Antrim, residing in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for the last 25 years. He is a retired teacher and is currently working on a history of North Brooklyn.

Join us on Wednesday, October 12th at the Garden City Casino. The meeting begins at 7:30pm, and is free and open to the public. Maximum attendance is 40, so arrive early to make sure you get a spot!
