The Voice That Calls Across the Years
Our October 2019 meeting enlightened us on the career of the great Irish tenor, John McCormack, but the meeting also created a desire to know more about John McCormack and to hear more of "The Voice That Calls Across the Years".
Responding to this demand, we have invited Mike Fitzpatrick to tell us more about the great Irishman and his extraordinary career. In a presentation utilizing video and the re-mastered recordings of John McCormack, Mike will talk about the people who were a major influence in John McCormack's career
along with some of the songwriters whose songs he recorded and made famous. And the evening would not be complete without the songs of Ireland that made John McCormack the "Irish Minstrel".
Mike has had an abiding interest in John McCormack for over forty years, which accounts for his passion to bring John McCormack's greatness to organizations like ours. Mike is currently president of the Nassau County Civil War Roundtable. Lovers of music and Irish culture will fill our seats.
Join us on Wednesday, February 10th at the Garden City Casino - please note the venue change. The meeting begins at 7:30pm. Face coverings are required and social distancing is expected to be practiced by those in attendance. Maximum attendance is 40, so arrive early to make sure you get a spot!
