Our Musical December 12th Meeting

A musical meeting is always an unquestionable delight. Our December musical meeting does, however, have a question: Which of Don Meade’s many musical instruments will he play? Don started with the trumpet, added the harmonica, added the guitar, added the mandolin, the tenor banjo and the fiddle. Unquestioned is that Don will bring with him Tom Dunne of Wexford and his traditional Irish music instruments. Clapping and foot tapping are encouraged.

Our audience may know Don Meade from his concerts and sessions at the old Eagle Tavern from the ’70s through its closing in 1993. Next venue was the Blarney Star and now at NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House. Catch Don, too, at the Catskill Irish Arts Week in East Durham where he is the Artistic Director. Don Meade’s moving musical feast has been presenting the finest Irish and Irish-American traditional musicians to New York audiences for over 25 years. Now it’s our turn! Join us on Wednesday, December 12th at the Garden City Public Library. The festivities start at 7:30pm. Come early!
